“Dot Com Bubble” [San Jose City Hall In San Jose, California]

“Planning for the new San Jose City Hall began in 1996, just two years after the start of the infamous "Dot Com Bubble” that saw speculation in Silicon Valley’s tech companies artificially inflate their values to unrealistic levels. By 2002 the dot com bubble had already burst, but even with a city budget shortfall of $30 million, construction finally started. It was the first time San Jose’s government was based in downtown for over 50 years". Photo by Darin Volpe.
